What Oppercon does:
Oppercon is a surface treatment hydrophobic product, that coats the surface structure of the stone and concrete at the molecular level. It keeps the surface of these building-materials waterproof and water-repellent and helps prevent algae and fungi growth.
Water vapor permeability
Oppercon protects but does not seal off the surface. The material continues to “breathe” so the vapor permeability is maintained, proper water management is ensured in this way. Oppercon guarantees a longer aesthetic and practical durability of your building material and structures made thereof.
UV-resistant
Oppercon is UV-resistant, it will not discolor nor in any way have any discoloring effect on the treated surface. Oppercon also resists freeze thaw and salt damage.
Economical
Oppercon is very economical and durable. it’s easily applied with a low-pressure-sprayer and 1 litre is sufficient for 88 ft2.
How Oppercon works:
Oppercon will wrap itself in and on the surface structure at the molecular level. It forms a coating around each granular material, this up to a quarter inch deep. This guaranties that Oppercon will never flake, break, crack or become loose from the treated surface in any way.
Because of the very slow biodegradable properties of Oppercon (± 15 years) it will eventually disappear from the surface, this is an essential part of the environmentally friendly properties of this product. After about ten years, you can re-treat the surface with Oppercon, without first having to clean or sandblast the surface, which is very costly.
How to use Oppercon:
Oppercon is Applied with an low pressure sprayer. You can also use an ordinary hand spray bottle or larger pump for larger surfaces. If available is a professional high-pressure spray can also be used.
Before starting the application, remove dirt, vegetation like bushes and any obstructieve materials from the area that would prevent Oppercon to reach the surface.
Apply Oppercon on a surface temperature between 41 °F and 77 ° F. Shake Oppercon before using and apply evenly over the surface of the wood, without leaving any puddles.
In a porous or old worn surface, it may be necessary to apply a second layer. Apply the second layer before the first layer has dried. This should be only minutes, because Oppercon will harden relatively quick.
Note: Do not apply Oppercon on dried parts which have already been treated. Once applied Oppercon will NOT absorb itself and white stains will appear. Should this happen unexpectedly, you can remove the whiteness softly with a high-pressure-cleaner.
Suggestion: glass and frames should be taped off and covered up. You can also use a concentrated dish-washing liquid (without adding water) and apply this on the glass and frames and what else needs to be covered, to prevent Oppercon from sticking to these materials.

Oppercon application instruction
-
Tools:
Oppercon is applied with a low pressure sprayer. This can be done by both the ordinary plastic hand spray bottle for smaller surfaces or with the slightly more professional plastic cylinder with hand pump for larger surfaces. A professional high pressure sprayer, if available, can be used as well. They will all bring the same perfect result.
-
Temperature:
Because Oppercon is a water-based product, it’s wise not to apply Oppercon to surfaces colder than 41 degrees Fahrenheit in case of freezing and not warmer than 77 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent rapid evaporation of the water which is Oppercon’s catalyst. (In case of rapid evaporation of Oppercon, it cannot penetrate quickly enough. Thus, when the surface is really warm (when you put your hand on the surface you can easily tell), apply a layer of tap water to cool down the surface. When dry once again you can apply Oppercon without any problem.)
-
Glass and adjacent materials:
Oppercon will not damage or etch the glass or other glossy materials. But it’s possible though, that if you leave drops dry on these kind of materials persistent white stains can build up. We therefore recommend to remove these drops on time with a sponge and water before it hardens. Better yet is to prevent Oppercon reaching these materials.
-
Application:
Before applying Oppercon, remove all dirt and obstructief materials from the surface. Then apply Oppercon evenly in a uniform pattern, without dripping or creating puddles. When the surface soaks it up easily, do it again before you move on. We recommend to cover up the parts that shouldn’t be treated. If this should occur by accident, you should remove the spillage immediately with water and an sponge. Shake Oppercon before use and do not apply Oppercon on a moist surface. Note: glass and frames should be taped off and covered up. You can also use a concentrated dish-washing liquid (without adding water) and apply this on the glass and frames and what else needs to be covered, to prevent Oppercon from sticking to these materials.
-
Second application:
In case that the surface is porous and old, it might be necessary to apply a second layer. This should be done within minutes before the first layer has dried up and hardened.
-
Important!
Note: during the application – Never go back to parts that have dried already and where you applied Oppercon already. Oppercon does not only stop water, but also stops itself once it’s dry and hardened.
How much Oppercon do you need:
1 liter Oppercon is sufficient for an average for 88 ft2 (depending on the porosity and quality of the surface this average would go down).
The difference between Oppercon, Permacon and Cementmix:
Oppercon
Oppercon is a surface treatment repellent agent for concrete, stone and stony materials. Without leaving any visible trace of its presence, it will, unlike Permacon, make the surface of these materials waterproof, water repellent and UV-resistant. Because of its repellent properties, it means that a finish, like paint, cement or any kind of finish is not possible. The Oppercon treatment should be repeated after 15 years.
Permacon
Permacon can be applied to any cementitious surface (concrete, stucco, concrete bricks, stone bricks, gypsum or porous natural stone etc.) to prevent rising damp and or water penetration. Its simplicity as for the application techniques, makes it most convenient for the treatment of walls, floors, ceilings and any structure made with these materials, in any form and size. Unlike Oppercon, which is a repellent agent, with Permacon it’s possible to finish the surface with a coating like paint, cement/screed or even Oppercon and any kind of finish you wish to apply. Guaranteeing a perfect, durable and waterproof surface. Permacon is very suitable under hydrostatic pressure situations for concrete. like in basements walls and floors, foundations, screed, or with underfloor heating etc. after you’ve applied Permacon rising damp has become obsolete and the treatment is permanent.
Cementmix
Cementmix replaces water in the mixing process and makes all cements, concrete, self-leveling mortar, stucco and much more, through-and-through water- and liquid proof. This applies to the whole thickness of the material. Any finish like paint, cement or any other kind of finish will be difficult because of Cementmix it’s water-repellent properties. The treatment is permanent.
